Who We Are

On February 23, 1961, engineer José Corgosinho de Carvalho Filho founded Companhia de Ferro Ligas da Bahia – FERBASA, which is now one of the 500 largest companies in Brazil.

FERBASA now operates in the fields of mining, metallurgy and forest resources. Through solid work in these segments, it gained recognition for the development of high quality products, together with significant socio-environmental actions. FERBASA is a leader in the production of ferroalloys and the only integrated producer of ferrochrome in the Americas. It is among the 10 largest companies in Bahia state, with annual revenue of more than US$350 million.
